Summer plans?

Woah, this is so high-tech.

What are everyone’s plans for the summer? Shall we congregate in Berlin to celebrate weddings and divorces? My schedule:

7-17 June Potsdam/Berlin

17-25 June Moscow/SPb

25/6-11/7 Japan

after 11/7 Potsdam/Berlin

    Well the only plan on the horizon is Frederick / Delphine’s wedding on Sep 4 (Venice) and prob a week in the Lake Como area, last week of Aug.

    That said, I’m not that far away from Japan, in theory. What are you doing there?

    Giving a talk at Tsukuba University on 29 June (to spend my remaining Princeton money), going to a conference in Sapporo on 9-10 July, and traveling/climbing Mount Fuji/sampling nightlife in Tokyo in between. Join me?

    Any more details re wedding etc? The last week of August doesn’t work for me, Jacob’s new school starts then.

    sounds appealing! i don’t have any plans at all until mid-august, so it looks quite attractive. plus (finally) phones now work in tokyo! if you’ve got a newish one, that is.

    Great! I bought a Japan Rail Pass, and I have a friend in Tokyo who is willing to show me around. Let’s coordinate!

    It’s looking very promising – I’m free between your two conferences, and air fares are quite reasonable. Shall I go ahead and book?

    Bill, give me a few days–I’m working on summer plans with my newly significant other. I don’t think anything will change about Japan, but let’s wait just to make sure. I’ll let you know.

    Very cryptic. But will wait and see. Thankfully traveller habits are different here and people tend to book pretty late anyway.

    Any preferences for where to go besides Tokyo? I’ve done all the usual stuff and you probably haven’t, but have been harbouring thoughts of going to either Sapporo or Okinawa for a while now.

    Just 1-2 days. I need to go to Hiroshima for a project, and of course I do want to see all the usual stuff, which I haven’t seen (Kyoto etc – actually, just Kyoto, I guess). And the conference is in Sapporo, so you could just join me. More by Thursday!

    Booked now so I’ll be arriving 29 June and leaving 9 July!
